What are the market timings?

Trading on exchange platform takes place on all days of the week except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays declared by the Exchange. 
The Market timings are as follows:
 
Equity:
9.15 am to 3.30 pm – Normal trading For NSE Cash, BSE Cash, and NSE F&O

**All new IPOs are listed on the exchange at 10:00 am. The pre-open session is from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.

Currency:
9 am to 5 pm – Normal trading for NSE Currency Derivatives
9 am to 7:30 pm - Cross currency

Commodity:
For MCX, trading hours are in two parts.  
 
The timings for- 
Non-agricultural commodities will be from 9 am to 11.55 pm.
9 am to 11.30 pm –  April to November

9 am to 11.55 pm – November to March
 
Agricultural and agro-processed commodities, the trading hours will be from 9 am to 9 pm.

 On Saturdays, the market timings are between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Also, there is pre-open session and post market sessions started by NSE. 
Timing-
Pre-open session-  9:00 AM to 9:15 AM.  
Post market sessions- 3:40 PM to 4:00 PM.
